No-knead cookies and cream cinnamon rolls packed with Oreos and topped with delicious frosting! It’s that good! The rolls are filled with Oreo crumbs and have a soft dough that is so good, you’ll eat them all in one bite. The Oreo crumbs add a nice and subtle chocolate flavor to the cinnamon rolls, which match perfectly with the classic cinnamon filling. The cream cheese topping adds a refreshing and sweet touch.
The No-Knead Method
Making cinnamon rolls traditionally requires kneading the risen dough, but I skipped this step. The no-knead method involves working with the dough without kneading it. Dough that has risen for a longer period of time becomes smoother, easier to handle, and, most importantly, bouncy and softer. By doing this, you won’t have to worry about kitchen clutter, and the less you work with the dough, the fluffier it becomes!
If your dough rises, add Oreo crumbs, and do not punch it down. Lift the edges of the dough and shape it into a ball without kneading it. Even better, you can incorporate the Oreo crumbs before the dough rises – this will maintain even more air bubbles.
Key Ingredients And Substitutions
Cookies and cream are not complete without Oreos! Choose your favorite Oreo flavor or substitute a similar sandwich cookie. When using active dry yeast, follow the instructions for mixing it directly with the dry ingredients. However, when using instant dry yeast, you must first combine it with room-temperature water and let the yeast bloom. The flour I used was all-purpose flour. To get the most accurate results, it is recommended that you weigh the flour.
A measuring cup can be used instead of a kitchen scale if you do not have one. Scoop the flour gently into the cup and scrape off the excess with the flat edge of a knife without packing it in. The butter adds tons of flavor to the dish, so be sure to use quality butter. Using room temperature eggs will improve the rise of the dough. You can use any milk you like – I’ve tried all kinds and everything works well. Make sure the milk is slightly warmed before using.
Can I Use Oreo Powder?
When making cookies and cream rolls, Oreo crumbs are a great addition, but if you want a more chocolatey flavor, you can use Oreo powder instead. It will result in a chocolate-colored dough with a perfect flavor. Alternatively, you can sprinkle Oreo crumbs on top if you have Oreo powder.
My Special Tips
To get a deliciously gooey mess, add 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream to the rolls before baking. The heavy cream makes a huge difference as it steams the dough! If you do not want to use dairy cream, you can alternatively use coconut cream or cashew cream.
With a gingerbread mix instead of a classic cinnamon roll dough, this recipe will take on a festive flavor and a new twist!
Serve the rolls warm if they are at room temperature. If they are at room temperature, you should warm them a bit.
