Domino’s Garlic Bread Recipe (Copycat)

Domino’s garlic bread is famous for its perfect combo of bread, garlic, and herbs, and nothing tastes better. There is no comparison between this homemade version and Domino’s garlic bread – it’s even better! Use a French baguette instead of a fancy loaf of bread for the best taste.

For freshness, I always make my French baguette myself, and I am sharing my recipe with you. It is easy to make, but the results are awesome! In a short amount of time, a freshly made French baguette is paired with rich butter, fragrant garlic, and parsley. The result? Well, I’m on my second loaf as I type this.

Making Garlic Bread (Overview)

In this article, we have a full recipe and step-by-step instructions, but here’s an overview so you know what to expect.

Several ways can be used to prepare garlic bread, but my favorite is the method offered by Domino’s; sliced baguette pieces slathered with garlic butter and baked until toasty.

I made my bread using a freshly made French baguette. It only requires a few simple ingredients: flour, salt, sugar, yeast, and water. Combine all ingredients thoroughly and let the dough rest for one hour.

This freshly made baguette tastes and feels better than the store-bought baguettes that you buy at the store. Shape the dough into a baguette and let it rise for an hour. Brush the baguette with butter and bake in the oven.

Almost all the way through your baguette, slice it up and combine butter, garlic, parsley, and salt in a bowl.

Butter the sliced bread inside and out, then wrap it in aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes and serve.

The Best Bread For Garlic Bread

Garlic bread, in my opinion, should always be made with a French baguette. The French baguette provides the perfect ratio of crispy crust and soft center.

Some types of bread have no crust, and others have too much crust.

Even though artisan bread has a great taste, it is also very dry, dense, and hard to swallow. So the best option is a homemade French baguette.

Can I Use Garlic Powder?

Garlic powder or garlic granules can be used for seasoning meat and in cooking in general, but fresh garlic is important when making this type of bread.

While I adore Domino’s garlic bread, I can’t deny some sourness which is probably coming from jarred garlic; that is the main difference I notice between fresh and jarred garlic, so it’s probably the preservatives.

Your bread will have an impeccable taste when you use fresh garlic. For me, when these three ingredients are combined, the result is almost like a perfect sweetness.

Serving The Garlic Bread

Occasionally, I enjoy eating a whole loaf of garlic bread by myself. It is the ultimate comfort food.

If you want something else to pair with this bread, I recommend spaghetti Bolognese, lentil soup, or Zuppa Toscana, with an Instant Pot steak and fresh salad.

Add-Ins

Even though this garlic bread is delicious as it is, if you want to add some parmesan on top, you can do so.

The flavor of parmesan cheese is fruity and nutty and it goes well with garlic, parsley, and butter.

Put the Parmesan on top of your warm bread and bake for a few more minutes. Besides adding a nice flavor, the Parmesan will provide an extra crust.
